Made of Love - Ferry Corsten feat. Betsie Larkin

Just try to break me
Take everything away
Just try to shake me
Out of my place

Nothing’s created
And nothing is destroyed

Just try to tame me

There’s nothing you can change
There’s no explaining
And no one to blame

Nothing’s created
And nothing is destroyed

I’ll never give this up

We’re all made of love
We’re all made of love

Take it away,
I’ll never give this up (No way to break)
Were all made of love (There isn’t a way)
Were all made of love…

Take it away
I’ll never give this up (No way to break)
We’re all made of love (There isn’t a way)
We’re all made of love.

A re post from a few years ago
Yeah, I know, I quote him often, but ever since I saw the "Power of Myth" on PBS one random night, my life changed. I was never one to adhere to what was put in front of me, be it religion, teachings, etc... I remember fighting with my mom in front of church about it not being my faith, mind you I was 11 or 12, for whatever reason I just felt compelled to argue with her!

I always strived to seek answers on my own terms and see shit for what it really is, not what presented to me... After seeing this and reading some of Joseph Campbell's books, I started meeting people who's questions were the same, though we all look for our own answers in our own way, we all agreed that the road and the actual journey was more important than the actual destination... I respect all people's beliefs, we're all trying to make the best of the time we have here, far be it for me to tell you how to live your lives...

“I think the person who takes a job in order to live - that is to say, for the money - has turned himself into a slave.”

“I don't believe people are looking for the meaning of life as much as they are looking for the experience of being alive.”

“Every religion is true one way or another. It is true when understood metaphorically. But when it gets stuck in its own metaphors, interpreting them as facts, then you are in trouble.”

“Your sacred space is where you can find yourself again and again.”

“Life is without meaning. You bring the meaning to it. The meaning of life is Whatever you ascribe it to be. Being alive is the meaning.”

“Opportunities to find deeper powers within ourselves come when life seems most challenging.”

“The world is full of people that have stopped listening to themselves or have listened only their neighbors to learn what they ought to do, how they ought to behave, and what the values are they should be living for.”

“Love thine enemies because they are the instruments to your destiny.”

“A computer is like an Old Testament god, with a lot of rules and no mercy”
(one of my favorites)

“It Takes Courage To Do What You Want”

“If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it's not your path. Your own path you make with every step you take. That's why it's your path.”

“The goal is to live with godlike composure on the full rush of energy, like Dionysus riding the leopard, without being torn to pieces.”

"God is a metaphor for a mystery that absolutely transcends the all human categories of thought. Even the categories of being and non-being, those are categories of thought, it's as simple as that, it all depends how much you want to think about it, whether its doing you any good, whether its putting you in in touch with the mysteries that are the ground of your own being, if it isn't, well, its a lie. So, half of the people of the world are religious people, how think their metaphors are facts, those are what we call theist, the other half are people who KNOW that the metaphors are not fact, so they're lies, those are call atheist..."

25 randoms about me

1. I was born and raised in El Barrio and lived there till I was 20. I spent the next 5 years trying to leave NYC only to be back here for the last 10.

2. My mother would send my brother and I to Ecuador every summer, from when I was born till I was about 16. We'd go right after the last day of school till the day before school started.

3. On one of my summer trips to Ecuador, my grandfather, who to me, is the very definition of what I consider to be the best man/ person I have ever met, deemed it necessary I learn what life is like in rural Ecuador. He woke me up one morning at 4:30am, we walked over to my cousin home around the corner under the light of a gas lantern, where my cousin's dad was waiting with a machete in hand. I was given the machete and was instructed on the proper way to slaughter a calf/cow and then walk over to a sleeping cow (yes, they do sleep standing up!) and my grandfather told me to deliver the fatal slice... welcome to manhood!

4. I’ve lived in Atlanta, Georgia during the 1996 Summer Olympics and in Sydney, Australia a year before the 2000 Summer Olympics.

5. My favorite food is Malaysian, Indian Pancakes and Spicy Thai Chicken to be exact.

10. My favorite color is red, though I never wear it.

11. I only drive manual transmission autos, and because of this, every time I rent an auto that is an automatic, I always slam on the brake thinking it’s the clutch. Every time!

12. Once was dragged across a soccer pitch in Ecuador by hanging onto the back of a pick-up truck trying to get away from kids who kept bothering me to speak in English.

drive...

With all that's going on, I was tempted to make a mad dash across the country to Cali... Knowing it wouldn't solve anything, but I needed to escape from the reality that has been my life as of late. As fate would have it, the northeast got hit by hurricane Bill and I got to surf Saturday and Sunday and it was enough to quell the fire that is my soul and being (think surface of the sun), also, my leaving would set things in motion that would effect people at I love and in turn love me and it would more than likely create problems bigger than the ones I am currently facing, not a good idea! Instead we drove to Hull, MA., which I am glad I did, and that's where I will leave it...

The drive back I did on my own and while I was on I-90 West, I thought for a split second, you can keep on this and be in Portland in 2 days... I then remembered her face, her eyes, her voice, the scent of her hair, the way her skin feels, her kisses... Was I ready to sacrifice her for my desire to run on my problems & disappear from the face of the earth?

So, here I am... at work...

I love you
